I saw the video of the actual collapse. Pretty scary. I hope the guy is ok and it was just dehydration or something like that.

I kept on thinking cardiomyopothy, like Cherpanov, but I know they test for that.

Great. It's now being reported he suffered a concussion upon collapsing. Poor kid.

I honestly do not understand how any professional athlete can suffer from dehydration. It's just plain idiotic. Drink your damn drink! It's that simple.

For a goalie, it's right there on the net! No excuse.
I can MAYBE understand a soccer player getting dehydrated if it's really hot, as they play 45 minutes straight, but that's about it.

Any organism's hydration levels differ from each other. Pavelec may have suffered from a severe dehydration attack. Fortunately he is doing better.

Goalies are way more prone to getting dehydrated than the skaters are...and he might have some sort of undiagnosed condition that can make him more susceptible to dehydration.

Very true. Goalies only have two breaks per game, intermissions.

I will not doubt testing is underway. It can be several days if they do find any abnormalities.
