I saw the video of the actual collapse. Pretty scary. I hope the guy is ok and it was just dehydration or something like that. I kept on thinking cardiomyopothy, like Cherpanov, but I know they test for that. |

C'mon! Get up and shake it off, or use it for a great promo spot... "Before I used to drink water, but after collapsing on the ice, now I only drink Gatorade G2!!!" |

Great. It's now being reported he suffered a concussion upon collapsing. Poor kid. |

I honestly do not understand how any professional athlete can suffer from dehydration. It's just plain idiotic. Drink your damn drink! It's that simple. For a goalie, it's right there on the net! No excuse. I can MAYBE understand a soccer player getting dehydrated if it's really hot, as they play 45 minutes straight, but that's about it. |

Any organism's hydration levels differ from each other. Pavelec may have suffered from a severe dehydration attack. Fortunately he is doing better. |

Goalies are way more prone to getting dehydrated than the skaters are...and he might have some sort of undiagnosed condition that can make him more susceptible to dehydration. |

Very true. Goalies only have two breaks per game, intermissions. I will not doubt testing is underway. It can be several days if they do find any abnormalities. |
