Just saw this on Puck Daddy - Kris Letang got ejected for a 110% clean hit, shoulder to arm, because Blake Comeau didn't fasten his helmet right and the refs assumed it was a head shot. What the fuck.

Comeau milking it for all it's worth laying on the ice like he's been seriously hurt.

hahaha my cousin from Florida was texting me about that, I was like "good I hope he gets 10 games". lol

After I seen it, I couldn't believe it. That was as clean a hit as they come.

From the ice, it must have looked like a head shot the way the Islanders reacted to it.

I can't really blame the refs if that's the case.

Another perfect reason for the NHL to use replay, especially when an ejection/suspension is at stake. It would have taken no extra time at all for the ref to hold off an the call until seeing it again. Joke league.

It looked bad because his helmet flew off. But in reality it was a perfect hit.

in comeauĊ› defense, it coulda just been a really hard legal hit, that just dazed him for a bit, like campbell and umbreger

anyways, not even the isles fans are bitching, perfectly clean hit

Wow......nice milking Comeau. What a fucking actor. The NHL needs to go to the replay on this shit. I would love to see the coaches each get two reviews a game for shit like this.

Yep, just cue the annoying commercial time out in the meantime. Maybe bring in auto icing to shave more time off the game to compensate at first...

Perfect idea, that is.

Perfectly clean hit. Good thing nothing will happen to Letang from that.

Isnt there SOMEONE watching who has the authority to call down and say "Yo, that wasnt a freaking penalty"? What a joke, it's like this league is determined to be backwards about some things.

On one hand, this is ridiculous.

On the other hand, Letang is on my fantasy team and this gave me 4.5 points.

The problem with the NHL is they won't review plays, yes it may make the game longer, but if it was a penalty do a quick replay and make it right.

The NFL does the same crap, clearly wasn't a penalty but it's all about the ref's discretion.

No league anywhere would do that.

Hell I have seen this Letang hit in the OHL and it is always called. The new rule about hits to the head is really stupid. Pretty soon there will be no contact in hockey and it will be like watching ringette

Last night i was at a OHL game here in London and nice clean hit by someone that was shoulder to shoulder was called for hitting to the head and it clearly wasn't. Plus ever since they implemented this rule in the OHL no one really hits anymore because of this retarded rule.

I'm certainly not calling for some extended time out. All it takes is one glance at a replay monitor at the officials box for that kind of play to be called right. It would take less time than it did for the penalty to be called and Letang to leave the ice.
