The coaches took the nets off the moorings, and Richards put the players through 20 minutes of intense, constant skating without pucks, according to the Star-Tribune. At one point, all skaters were bent over with their hands on their knees trying to catch their breath. When one player made a sound, Richards barked at them to skate three more laps. Players were reportedly so charged up and exhausted during the practice that they nearly came to blows with one another several times. Richards even had to break up one scuffle himself, according to the report.
