The teenage daughter of Ottawa Senators assistant coach Luke Richardson has died.

Daron Richardson, 14, was rushed to the hospital Friday, the Senators said in a statement.

'There was an accident at their home (Friday) and Daron tried to take her life by hanging,'' the statement read. ''Her mother found her in the basement, and Daron was rushed to the hospital by ambulance where she remained in critical condition in ICU until she succumbed to her injuries.''

I don't know how they can call it attempted suicide...

They think it is an attempted suicide because she did not complete the tragic act. The life threatening injuries she sustained became too much for her to recover from. Unfortunately, the act was carried out successfully.

Yeah. I didn't do much reading into it, because it generally depresses me, but any idea why she did it?

Very sad, still.
