Even Datsyuk doesn't bring this kind of nasty:

Oh, and the kid is a defenseman.

Yeah, bringing the backhand move off the foot is a good way to get the puck back on the forehand. I wouldn't do the move quite like that, but I could pull off something similar.

When I first saw Connolly's between the legs move, I practiced it nonstop until I could do it haha.

Datsyuk could do it.

It kind of looks like he probably wouldnt have scored if the goalie hadnt tried to poke-check. Without the goalie out of position like that he wouldn't have much to shoot at.

Still cool though.

It's not that hard, probably 90% of NHL players can do it, they just don't because they're not confident, don't want to get bitched out by the coach, and because it's usually not the best idea anyways. How often have you seen connolly do it versus how often we've scored because of it?

I'm thinking if Lindy had to choose between Rivet and that dog to play D, come gametime, the dog ain't sittin' in the pressbox.

And hey, the dog can already say the coaches name: Ruff.

I sometimes daydream about doing that exact move, but I've never even tried it.

Haha, and like Rivet she's old (91 in dog years), she can't run, and she can't get up without help.

I think I've tried it four times in inline games and been successful twice. The one flub I Kovalsucked it and lost the handle, and the other the guy threw his stick between my legs and tripped me.

shoes=/=skates though.

its not an overly difficult move. i cant do it in skates. then again, i dont try anything fancy on breakaways, i go backhand, and high. but i mean, in all fairness, its easy to do in shoes, probably alot harder on skates with defenders in your way.

Your dog can play D better than Rivet that's for sure.

Actually I find it to be easier on skates. You can glide. While walking/striding, you need to do it at the right time. It's also much easier on a smooth surface.

i dunno, i have a net in my driveway, and i often find myself using my feet to move the ball. i have awesome hands in my driveway, but once i throw on skates.. im useless unless im shooting. thats why im a goalie. (my fave move is putting the ball off my left foot, and kick it back to my forhand before flipping around putting the ball inbetween my feet for a backhander)

im not questioning your skill, i was actually pleasantly impressed with your hand/eye. i just feel with shoes, staying still, its easier.

I need to work on my stickhandlin stuff, and my shot.

Getting much better though, I think if I get a puck that works on concrete I'll be much better off with the dangling and stickhandling part.
