How crazy is it that after 1/3 of the season has been played, THREE of the top 6 in the East are from the Southeast division? Fuckin' nuts. Flukey...or have they started to come around? Still a joke? I guess we'll know in a couple months. |

This could be the first year EVER more than two SE teams have made the playoffs. |

Washington is a guaranteed lock with Ovechkin as a career Capital. Tampa Bay and Atlanta made the most significant changes this year. Both Lightning and Thrashers will vie for the bottom five Conference seeds. Florida is still a work in progress. David Tallon needs two solid years to right the ship in the Panthers organization before we see them in the playoffs. Having lost Luongo, Jokinen, Bowmeester, and Horton in recent years, the organization needs a good farm of rising stars to be a beacon to the team. The Hurricanes will have an off year, and may make front office changes in 2011. Out of the five teams in the Southeast Division, the Thrashers will be the most exciting to watch. |

Honestly, I think there could be 4 of those team from the SE make the playoffs. Tampa has done a great job assembling that team together. Atlanta, wow, what can we say about that team. And the Hurricanes need more consistency. Young team, one of the youngest in the NHL, but tied with us in points and Ward is playing fantastic. It's weird not seeing a thousand teams from the NE and Atlantic in the playoff picture, but the east has started to get closer again, even if the worst 5 teams in the league are in the east. |

I feel like of TB, Atlanta, and NYR, at least one of them will crap out and miss the playoffs. |
