Wow, I just watched the overtime of the game. The Flyers scored in the last second but it didn't count because the clock turned to 0.0 right when the puck was on the line. 0.1 earlier and it would have counted. |

Now that's splitting hairs but the rules say that if time expires before the puck crosses the line it doesn't count....hehehehe |

Official video from NHL.com. Everyone was convinced it went in before the time expired. |

I kind of think that play should continue after the clock expires during a shot until someone touches the puck. |

I watched that game. I don't understand why the announcers are so sure the goal counted because it looked fishy when 1 second was left and he shot the puck. The refs were really brutal in that game. Penalties going unnoticed. The Flyers were absolutely jacked out of that game. |

I swear the NHL Refs and Amy Winehouse have the same amount of ability to make a good judgment call...just sayin... |

The only thing I think is, if the shot is off before the buzzer, it's a live puck until it gets deflected or covered. But since it's not, HAHAHAHAHAHA. |

If anything it would just result in a video review, which is exactly what we got in the Philly - SJ game anyways. I just see it like basketball, the ball doesn't have to go through the basket in time, merely be released in time. I think the same should be true for hockey, then if it's deflected, or hits the goalie with no time left, game/period over. Is there any question? Spend 2 minutes reviewing it. |
