Fan Votes Forward : Crosby, Malkin, Towes Defense : Letang, Keith Goalie : Fleury I know that the NHL wants fan involvement and such, but this is just getting stupid. How does Marc-Andre Fleury lead all goaltenders? I don't have a problem with Letang, I think he belongs there no matter what. But Fleury? They should really limit the fan vote so that only one player from any team can be voted in via fan balloting. |

They're the most enthusiastic fan base right now. They're the most likely to waste their time watching the all star game. Works out for everybody. |

yeah, that's friggin stupid. "All-Star" is an expression of ability, NOT popularity. |

One of the biggest reasons why I hate the penguins and their fans. |

Except the players that don't make it on the team because there aren't enough spots, and the fans of those players who don't get to see their players participate. |

Sorry for double post, but I found they changed the name of the game to the "1 star game" instead of the "All-Star game", because that's what Fleury's done this year. He had one 1st star, and zero 2nd or 3rds. That's hysterical, and a clear example of why the fan balloting is weetodded. |

There may never be a better Geno fan besides his mom and dad, but I didn't vote him in because he doesn't deserve to be there this season. I'm embarrasses for Penguins fans and this so-called "greatest hockey town". if anybody knew anything about hockey around here, Geno would not be starting the ASG. An alternate? Yeah he's earned that, maybe. Letang deserves it and since he's the team heartthrob I'm sure countless teenage girls (who comprise 90% of the fan base for the pens these days) I'm not at all surprised that he got it. They got Letang right, but for the wrong reasons. He has played AWESOME all season. Fleury, maybe as an alternate is fine. I give him credit for turning his season around even though he shit the bed in another big game just recently. Tim Thomas is your starting ASG goalie and it's not even close IMO. |

Malkin is ugly, dirty, and will forever be crosby's bitch. Malkin has the same cap hit as Crosby, 8.7M. What, 7.1M wasn't good enough? Tool. |

As much as people hate on Crosby, and Crosby is a bitch, much of the ire is misplaced. Malkin is way dirtier, and is probably going to wind up McSorely-ing someone's Brashear one of these days. |

Bullshit Malkin is dirty. If you say Malkin's dirty I call Kaleta Chris Neil. Malkin puts up almost as many points as Crosby (sometimes even more) ON THE SECOND LINE. |

I'm not sure if CV is just effing with me or if he really thinks he's that dirty. And you're wrong, since his epic Conn Smythe season he hasn't done much of anything with the wingers they provide him. These days most of his points are spoon fed to him by 87. CV is right about one thing, Geno is Sid's puppet. In his mind Geno may still think he's as good or better than Sid, and if Therrien were still the coach he might actually show that more than once or twice a season, but the truth is he's not even close. |

MAF, while not deserving of the all star starter, is having a nice season. seems maybe hes finally growing into his skill, which is perhaps the top of all NHL goalies. |

Malkin is dirty. At least caps fans admit it with S♦emin. |

1/4 of those was actually dirty. I can show some same videos of Kaleta. Is Kaleta a dirty dirty boy? He has similar videos... |

Right so putting a shoulder into Wayne Simmonds' face isn't dirty. Or is Jumping at that oiler not dirty? or slewfooting Mara? What the hell are you watching? Kaleta's borderline play is immaterial. This discussion is about Malkin being a dirty player, not Malkin being dirtier/less dirty than other players. |

OH MY GAWD Will those guys ever skate again!? Looked like they all need body casts and IV's, huh? I love it when a star player dishes back a fraction of the grief he gets and then gets MORE of a bad label then them. I'm sure somebody could make a very long youtube library out of all the times he gets hit like those and plays right through it and doesn't flop like a fish. Beautiful irony. All I can tell you CV is Malkin got his Cup ring by playing with guts and passion. He doesn't cry when he's made the victim, he goes out and fucks somebody else up. He's no dirtier than half the players in the NHL. |
