Seeing the All-Star-Game voting is a total joke, maybe discussing early Vezina candidates would be more fun.

Right now I think your top 3 goaltenders are Tim Thomas, Carey Price, and Jonas Hiller. Price and Hiller are both super solid workhorses that their team can trust, and Thomas' amazing stats speak for themselves. I'd have to believe a heavier workload wouldn't be too detrimental to his play. I watch Hiller enough to know he faces MAD shots nightly, and makes a ton of big saves to keep his club in it. A few bad games early, but then he found his groove, and is on a terror right now. He'd be my biased choice.

We could always just give it to MA Fleury, because he playz on a team wis Cindy Crosby, and strokes him on the plane on the way home after losses. It would save us the time we wasted debating who REAL candidates might be. Thanx Buttman. Yet another brilliant implementation.

1. ondrej pavelec. hes looked really sharp, and his save percentage is astronomical. the atlanta team is sharp, and hes a main reason. hes a good, solid, young goalie who will provide the thrashers with solid goaltending for years to come.

2. carey price. you can just see the maturity hes grown this year. he always had the athleticism to be great, but he never put it together. he is sharp and seeing the puck through traffic, and isnt overplaying the puck. hes square to the shooter, and hes not panicking.

3. tim thomas. his stats speak for themselves. a .944 save percentage? thats video game like. hes a scrapper and hes stopping pucks and backstopping a mediocre bruins team to a solid season. and, yes. here it comes. it doesnt hurt tuukka rask, his "backup" is playing like a vezina candidate himself in abbreviated playing time. that tandem is something special. i expect thomas to come down to earth in the second half though.

Well, I can't see them handing the Vezina to Pavelec at this rate. His level of credibility is nearly as bad as Price's(only because he has none). I think Thomas would be the easy winner of your top 3.

...but to each his own. Besides, all this will probably change by playoffs, lol.

No credibility? He won't win because nobody knows who he is?

Kind of. What I'm saying is that if he has similar stats to Brodeur, then it probably goes to Brodeur.

At this point, Thomas, Hiller, Pavelec, and Rinne are my front runners for Vezina nominations.

Rinne might sneak into my top 5. Some people bash him, but he looked solid the couple times I saw him.

He's been solid as a rock for three years.

Ya, maybe because of style points he's under-rated. Unorthodox is usually not accepted until it's proven.
