Roli has had some pretty awesome mask designs over his career. I really like this one, even though it's a Bolts mask. Hella nice work. I have THN's goalie mask book from a season or two ago detailing masks from when they first started popping up to today's makes and models. Some real nice finds in there for sure. I think one of my fav's of his was his tribute to Fuhr's Oilers mask from the 80's. ![]()

I think Gary Bromley had the creepiest mask of all time though during his time as a Canuck..

my main problem with some masks is the actual make of the mask. its easy to spot an itech 961, or an itech 9601, or a warwick, sportsmasq, ect. my favourite of recent times is raycrofts vancouver mask, for the use of colours. (itech lid, btw) i like how its white to a light, ice blue. awesome. ![]() and of course, of my favs.

I love Gary Bromley's mask. Gilles Gratton's lion mask was also epic. The art of those old solid fiberglass masks really are second to none, even with some of the beauty on the ice today. |

I think it's bullshit the Rangers are claiming dibs on his mask. Wasn't it he himself who came up with the idea for the big lion head? |

AudSabres wrote: the trim on this mask is stupid awesome. i love the trim. i also like the white cage. too many goalies "chrome" it out. i dont like the portraits. i think thats something best left off a mask. PS: GOD I WANT THAT ITECH 961! such a great profile to a mask. |

Yea, he designed the rough image after being inspired by his being a Leo. Also, sad to say, that AMAZING Blackbeard/Bill Cody mask of Enroth's actually isn't his...it was commissioned for him (or so I heard), his actual mask is just as awesome. ![]() ![]() The artist who did those is David Gunnarsson, a FAST rising star in the goalie mask world. |

Related to Phil's retro mask link, here's a little trivia just for fun... Can anyone name the remakes pictured below to whom the originals belonged?
