Well in a market where no one cares one bit. It was very sad seeing the crowd while watching the game last night. |

Their announced attendance was less than 7,000. Amazing. Also, the free tickets are only handed out if they win the designated games. Hmm, not so promising. |

"The Coyotes managed a sellout in their home opener when all tickets were sold for $25 or less. The team's second home game on Thursday night drew an announced crowd of just 6,899." This is proof that no one in that city gives a rats ass about the team. And even though it was an "Announced Crowd" of 6,899 there is a good chnace it was much less. Geez, I remember in Chicago during the Mike Smith era of GM, they were turning the lights down so the TV Cameras wouldn't see all the empty seats in the 2 and 300 sections. They'd announce 15,000 and actual numbers came out there would be less than 5000. And thats a hockey market! Give it up Gary. There is no pulse. The blood has run cold. Stop shocking the corpse. It's over. |

I'm surprised anyone showed up with the long term uncertainty surrounding the team. There was likely 0 marketing of the club. Their season ticket base is likely close to 0 since there were so many people saying that they would be in Hamilton this season. Kind of makes it hard to sell season tickets. And even now the team's future is up in the air. Not the best formula for selling tickets....... Oh yeah, the team on the ice sucks, too. I mean, they would LOVE a two year stretch out of the playoffs like Buffalo fans have had to endure. |

This team and its players so deserve to be in a city that appreciates hockey |

To be fair, can you imagine the intense microscope that would be focused on them if they have played their last ten years in a true hockey market? Sheesh. |

*Paging the Mayor of Winnipeg... The MTS Centre is barely shy of NHL standards for seating. Maybe 2000 seats. They've added more seating at the aud, most recently the Saddle Dome in Calgary... this sort of thing has been done before. With the Canadian Dollar doing MUCH better than it did back in '96, the CBA structured as it is, all it will take is for the proper sponsors/funding to come through. Common Gary, you said it yourself when Jimmy B. was going to move them to Hamilton that the first Canadian city you'd consider would be Winnipeg. So why not explore that option now? Can you imagin how much hype there would be inbringing back the Jets? http://www.jetsowner.com/ |

Jim Bob wrote: Oh yeah, the team on the ice sucks, too. -1 I beg to differ. Their 10/7 game was one of the better ones I've seen this season. They were chippy and scrappy and beat the snot of Pittsburgh. They're first in their division and one of only three teams to have single digit goals against. I think they made some good off season acquisitions; Prucha, Lang, & Upshall. It's changed the entire makeup of the team. If you compare their record and ours, you could say the teams are very similar. In a nutshell, you would then have to say we also have an inferior team on the ice which is not true. |

25 dollar or less tickets?! That's the kind of world I want to live in. My heart does go out for all those players who only get the privilege of an audience when they're on the road. That blows. |

I feel a little bad for their eight fans, but not much. Their goal horn is annoying as hell. And Doan is a douchebag. |

Though there is no Forseberg in the group; this team (ironically) reminds me of the Quebec team that moved to Colorado. Good young talent, needs a little salt and pepper, and a little tweaking. Move them to the right city, and this team could very well be very competitive in a hurry, and successfull all around. |
