Good news for those of you who will miss the Penguins in their game against the Rangers on Tuesday night. The Penguins will be returning to action again on Wednesday night to face the Islanders. You can say Cindy gets ratings, but he probably won't be getting mine unless PIT is in losing mode late in the game(yes I know he's injured). /versus;Cindy rant. |

He does get ratings, because he's the unanimous choice as the best player in the game and he has the strongest following of fans based on ASG voting and a recent TSN poll in which 69% of NHL players picked him #1 as the best player, smartest, best role model, and the player they would pick to start a franchise. He's earned the accolades and he's not going anywhere. He sells the game. |

So, that doesn't mean the fans of the other 29 franchises want to see his face. |

the crosby hate boils down to two things: overexposure and jealousy hes not on your team. crosby is the best player in the NHL. bar none. the NHL would be stupid NOT to show his teams games the most. kinda like how the NBA focused on the bulls when jordan was around, and the magic when jordan wasnt around (shaq and penny days) |

I don't get when people act surprised or offended because a sports league has the audacity to market their best player(s). People want somebody to dethrone Crosby desperately, but until that day comes they need to zip it because as of right now he's number one in the hockey world. |

Give Malkin his own team (with proper support) and I bet he is right up there with Sid and OV... |

Would you agree there are many more marketable players in the league over Crosby? Ones with actual substance and personality. Yes, and I was so glad Crosby wasn't a part of any of the ASW stuff, it showed many personalities of the All-Stars and wasn't about sucking the cock of one player in the league. That is how the league should be marketed. If there is hockey on VS involving the Pittsburgh Penguins, I will not watch it, ratings can say otherwise, but all VS games probably draw the same amount of ratings. If a restaurant/sports bar is showing hockey, it's on VS most likely or the hometown team, but they show VS regardless who is playing. |

who is more marketable over the best player in the game? probably the best player in the game since mario or gretzky? it is what it is. whats even more funny is people bitch about crosby "demanding" the spot light, when hes turned down offers to allow other players in the spotlight. |

The Crosby flood is what has really done it for me. Yes he's the best player in the game but shit, to listen to Versus or half the other sports sources you'd think he's the only fucking player on the Penguins...and sometimes the league. He's marketable, he's fun to watch and he's the best in the NHL, but that doesn't warrant the deep throating and spoon feeding. Okay, shit we fucking get it!! He's amazing!! Can we now get on with the game? On VS you have to not only deal with the worst announcing crew in the fucking game but when Pitt plays, all that empty bantering those asshats do instead of calling the game is ALL focused on Sid. My dislike has nothing to do with him personally but the ridiculous ass rimming they do on the guy. It makes me feel dirty and fed up when I watch a Pitt game. |

i can certainly understand that, DP.. i remember a bunch of people invited me to some national hate crosby day because he scored the GWG in the olympics. yeah, thats sorta what hes there for? most of the hate is unfounded, or people still play the crybaby card because he acted like an entitled spoiled kid as a rookie, which any 18 year old with hype would do. |

What, you can't have more than one player who are equally as talented being marketed then? Stamkos is clearly an amazing player, why isn't he forced into our throats then? The Sedin's, they are the highest scoring duo in the NHL this year. Ovechkin gets marketed enough, but not like Crosby, his personality alone makes him a better candidate. Datsyuk, the guy is a master with the puck. Lundqvist, Miller are great goalies, show them up more. Miller has been more since last year. Show more players will gain more fans, clearly the NHL marketing plan fails to realize what can draw in new fans, and that is showing an array of players because not everyone wants to be some douchey little guy who scores, some want to be the goalie and stealing games away, or the bruising defender who just knocks the shit out of people. Why is Skinner so liked in Carolina, yes he's a decent looking kid, but his personality and charismatic look in him and the genuine appreciation for being in the league is why people are drawn to the kid. |

I kind of think the guy has douche qualities but that doesn't bother me at all. I just hate hearing about him so much. Number one problem is that games on VS suck...just plain and simple. We all know how the announcers sit and talk about anything they can to keep from actually calling the game. They are annoying and hard to watch and even when Pitt isn't playing you hear enough about Sid to make you want to turn the damn game off. Then when you get Sid out on the ice in a game, well just forget about hearing the play by play, or any name not directly related to Crosby. It's embarassing I think that these guys tote him to be the second coming of Paul Newman or something while completely ignoring all of the other great players out there. |

ovie is marketed way more then any other NHL player. stamkos is good. he aint crosby. hes also shown he doesnt have some electric personality that demands the spotlight. miller gets plenty of commercials, in fact, the degree commercial showing miller is a league wide campaign. every teams starting goalie has one. ive seen vokoun, howard, miller, pavelec, and turco so far. so when you flip on versus, and they show a commercial for the next few games, and its "see crosby and the pens...".. gee, who is that commercial geared towards? people who dont watch hockey, but know the name. some casual jabroni isnt going to care about stamkos or jeff skinner, or whoever the fuck else. but theyll know crosby. and guess what? versus doesnt care if you are sick of crosby, you are a hockey fan, you dont need to brought in. but the guy who doesnt know about hockey? hes a potential gold mine. |

I still don't like it either. I can't wait until he retires so I can stop hearing about him. |

He isn't even playing in these games. Versus desperately needs an option to flex out of certain games. |

You have no idea how much worse it can get. Why do you think I'm here? Do what you said, don't watch and don't listen. But the constant ranting about it doesn't benefit anybody. I swear there's a Crosby thread on every board in the world about everything and nothing at all. Find some peace. |
