Living out here in the Denver area all I have been hearing about is FOPA....fopa...FOPA and more FOPA!!! These fans haven't had a whole lot to be happy about this year and this is the hope they were looking for. Seems that since Sakic got his fingers cut off the whole town has been bummed.

I picked him up in the fantasy league and look forward to some Forsberg gold but what do you think he'll bring to the table for the Av's?

I don't expect much. I think it will take him at least a few weeks to get back into the swing of NHL game speeds, and he won't provide that much of an impact.

i loved forsburg. when healthy, he could dominate the sport. he and lindros were a dying breed: big size, bigger talent. damn injuries

Forsberg, you have to play with the way your foot is. The more operations it has, the harder it will be for you to walk in this lifetime.

If he still has something in him, he needs to let it out. Otherwise, it is time to hang it up.

But he's also one of the fiercest competitors in Nord/Avs history, and the hands die hard. I expect him to put up over a point per game and the rest of the season for Colorado very exciting.

I'll give Foppa credit for wanting to try to come back.

Although he played on the edge years ago and has suffered some damage, I'm sure (besides his foot) that his body isn't as banged up as most others would be considering the time he has had away from the game. If he comes back and rips every team a new one then it is a bonus signing by the Avs for sure. Flip side of the coin is that if this time around he falls flat, I think he’ll take the hint that the game is a little too fast for him now and will side with his body and age and call it a day.

Either way, you can’t blame a guy for wanting to give it one more shot.

NHL network showed highlights and naturally they focused on Floppa. He played okay.

If I bought tickets based on his comeback, and he bailed after two games, I'd probably be pretty salty about it.

This is getting more drawn out than the Sundin saga from a few years ago...

As much as I was behind him putting a good effort into a return to the league, it's just not in the cards.
