What is the criteria for calling a penalty vs. just waving the goal off? |

Rule 69.1-.3 says that intentional contact by attacking player on goalie results in penalty, incidental contact requires goal called off but no penalty. |

The way the rule is written, intent comes into play. If it's accidental contact, it's not a penalty. If it's intentional (or the player didn't try to get out of the way when they could have) then it's a penalty. |

Makes sense. That's why I wasn't upset with the non-penalty on Callahan. Not intentional, but prevented Jhonas from making a play. Although you could argue he was bumped a little, he was in the way. |
