http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nhl/ne ... id=6317726 down goes hasek, sadly. i guess as much as it sucks haseks record will be broken, at least, for me, i can take comfort in a local guy who is a good dude doing it. whatever, thomas still isnt half the goalie hasek was in his prime, IMO. |

Oh well, at least Thomas is a good guy yeah, he really is. hes from the town over from me, and in highschool, he lived next door to my then girlfriend. he was a really nice dude, so ive always enjoyed his success on a personal level. |

Same here as much as I hate the Bruins, I will always like Tim Thomas. |

It's like Broduer. Thomas is playing under a Julien team during the d-days of the game. Broduer and Thomas make good saves and play pretty well, but they're never left hanging out to dry, having to make spectacular stops or just get stomped on with odd-mans and TOs in the slot. That's the stuff that drags down save %, but Lemaire and Julien teams don't do that to their goalies. He's done well, but he hasn't had to stand on his head. |

the difference is thomas didnt dominate the way hasek did. the numbers look the same, but it was completely different. ive said it a million times.. no goalie affected the game like hasek did. hasek, in his prime, was simply unbelievable. but im happy for thomas. hes a good, local guy, and he deserves it. its always nice when a local guy does stuff. |

hasek was seeing a minimum of 30 shots per game, 15-20 of those most likely quality. he probably faced more than 35 shots more than any other top ten goalies in the league, too. |
