anyone surprised by this? The game was played so canada would stop bitching about not being in an outdoor game. They'll do it every other year or so to make it seem "fresh". beyond that, it pisses me off that the next WC is going to be in Philly.

2009- Detroit@Chicago
2010- Philadelphia@Boston
2011- Washington@Pittsburgh
Come on NHL, give some other teams a try at the Winter Classic, not just your same old over-rated teams....

i doubt they would do NYR vs NYI because 1, its a very regional thing that i doubt most non-NYC fans would really care about and 2, the Islanders have sucked and they seem to avoid putting shitty teams in the WC. Detroit/Colorado and Dallas/Minnesota would be great games. My personal choice would be Colorado @ Montreal with Colorado wearing Qubec jerseys.

Having said that, I am surprised the Rangers haven't played an outdoor game yet. Maybe it will be the Rags and the Flappers for the next one.
