I had excel's randbetween function predict records for each team keeping their wins within one standard deviation of their previous year, or maybe two, I don't remember. I'll post it later. Off the top of my head though: 1). Washington 2). Pittsburgh 3). Buffalo 4). Boston 5). Philadelphia 6). Tampa Bay 7). NY Rangers 8). Montreal 9). Toronto 10). NYI 11). Florida 12). New Jersey 13). Carolina 14). Winnipeg 15). Ottawa |

East 1. Boston - same team as last year, I think they might repeat 2. Pittsburgh - still a good team even if Crosby is hurt 3. Tampa - made strides last year and they look pretty dam good for this year 4. Buffalo - Ehroff, Lenio and regehr are going to help 5. New Jersey - can't see them having another bad year, they will be much better this year 6. Washington - I think they are coming back to earth this year. They are really not that good 7. Montreal - Goaltending will be the only way they make it this high 8. Rangers - see Montreal explanation -------------------- 9. Philly - too many changing parts for them to make this year if you ask me 10. Carolina - they have to have more guys than Staal and Skinner do all the scoring 11. Winnipeg - schedule will eventually kill them 12. Toronto - I honestly think they could be the worst team in the east, they are really not that good. They need a proper rebuild to have any real shot at getting 8th 13. Florida - all the spending to get to the floor will not make them an better. 14. Islanders - Edmonton of the east 15. Ottawa - They just suck West 1. LA - this team reminds me so much of the 2010 Blackhawks 2. Chicago - 2010 Stanley cup hangover is not going to get to them this year 3. Vancouver - worst divsion in all of hockeyand they will win it no problem 4. Anaheim - could very well challenge LA for top spot in the west 5. Detroit - kind of an old team but you can't really count them out 6. Nashville - no real changes this year but they are still descent 7. San Jose - changes might help but they might not 8. Dallas - They will rebound after not making last year ------------------------- 9. St. Louis - they will just barely miss making it 10. Columbus - they will challenge for the last spot 11. Minnesota - see columbus explanation 12. Colorado - kind of a weird team to judge. 13. Calgary - too many NTC for too many average players 14. Phoenix - last year in arizona is going to be bad, real bad 15. Edmonton - still too young and not very good |

Am I the only one who thinks Philly is not going to be so good this year?? Losing Carter and Richards and replacing them with Jagr and Talbot is going to hurt a lot more then help them. |

Noway they miss the playoffs, especially with JVR, Giroux, Briere, and Jagr. And Pronger. |

They still have their two best scorers. Girouz led the team with 76 points, Briere was second with 68. They lost Carter and Richards and Leino, their 3-4-5 top scorers and replaced them with a stronger defense and better goaltending and Jagr. Jagr alone could probably make up 3/4 of what Carter and Richards scored last year. Jagr is either going to do great or terrible. I just don't think the guy can do average. |

Jeff Carter was their best goal scorer and Richards was their leadership and a decent scorer. Also, their D isn't really that improved. I just don't see them doing better. When you replace Richards and Carter with Jagr and Talbot and get a decent goalie your team isn't all that better. |

A goalie can make or break a team. I don't think they'll do that bad. They'll make the playoffs, but winning their division will be tough, but their only main competition will be Pittsburgh honestly. |
