With all the suicides and depression and concussions that we're hearing about these days this article is fairly interesting.

Very interesting article and I definitely agree with the writer. If you give an all out band on fighting then you'll have a spike in "former" NHL'ers with severe depression.

On a side note....so Peters went from an enforcer in the NHL to running a medical device distribution company. :shock:

I'm concerned about Toronto Maple Leafs fans. Seriously, how much disappointment can those people take before jumping off of the CN tower?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but apparently there has been a 60% increase in emergency room visits by children and adolescents for brain injuries in the past eight years. According to the report, more than 500,000 concussions are sustained by the 4.4 million children who play tackle football.

I have to believe that if anything else other than football were causing such debilitating injuries to half a million kids, we, as a society, would be taking a serious look at it.
