and now, my thoughts on this. it sucks, the fan is a jackass, but im not outraged by it. know why? because simmonds isnt. he moved on, hes the bigger man. by showing indifference between a racist act, it dulls the action by saying "whatever." my belief is racist actions drive a wedge between different races, and so does the outrage at it, even though it has good intentions. i hope people get what im saying. i dont give a funk about skin colour or religion. pretend it didnt even happen. dont give the loser the satisfaction. |

The city of London Ontario over the past couple of months have been flat weird. Back in the spring we had a white supremist running for mayor and he actually got some votes, then last week we had some moron tell trans genders to not bothering showing up for work at a local farmers market because they are different and now we have a douche throwing fruit at a player because he is black? Thanks idiots because all of north America think we are a bunch of hill billy racists. |

I'm sorry, I know it's classless, but I find this an incredibly witty heckle. It's way better than just shouting an obscene word, or making an obscene sign. I have to commend Simmonds too, he just shrugged it off, basically said "Yeah, he's an ignorant fool, but hey I make 3M a year, he makes 30G a year...good for him" |

Simmonds might have shrugged it off, but that doesn't make it right. He's a black guy in North America used to racism, great. You guys who think it's funny out to imagine yourselves playing a soccer game on an all-black team in Africa in front of 20,000 people and when you're about to kick your game deciding penalty kick, you get pelted with crackers. As witty as that might be, I bet any of you would be scared shitless in that situation if you were being honest with yourself. |
