NHL.com story In this article, the old argument is reborn as the president of VS declares that DirecTV tried to re-tier the network into a more expensive package, and not that (as DirecTV claims) they want more money from DirecTV to show the network. Don't know who to believe, but I'm more inclined to believe the president of VS because I hate the hell out of the satellite networks when they re-tier for no damn reason besides climbing interest equaling more profits for them. |

I don't know the bitch, I had to order the sports tier on my cable network to get Versus. I have a feeling this is a classic case of "you pissed in my cornflakes" with total disregard to hockey fans on DirectTV |

To Whom it May Concern, Ice hockey is among the 4 major professional sports in the United States. Baseball, Football, and Basketball are all aired on networks like ESPN, TBS, and FOX. How can you deprive fans of the last major sport in the country by trying to air their games on a package that costs more? I recently moved out on my own, and I chose to become a Dish Network customer, due to your inability to show Versus on a basic cable package. Stop trying to nickel and dime hockey fans, make yourself competitive with the other major satellite and cable networks by airing Versus on your basic package, and find other creative ways and new services to generate revenue. VS has never been a basic package on any Dish program guide. It has always been in the third tier of programs, which include the Cinema packages and HBO channels and such. |

It's the networks who have decided that hockey isn't important to their bottom line. |
