It is early in the year and all of their wins have come against teams with losing records, but the Leafs are playing pretty good hockey to start the season. So far they haven't lost a game in regulation and Phil Kessel leads the league in scoring with seven goals and 12 points. We'll see how they do tonight against the Bs. |

To me they havent proven a thing, yes they are playing better and Kessel ahs suprprised me but they beat the three worst teams in the East (barley) in Ottawa, Montreal and Winnipeg, beat one of the worst teams in the West and the one good team they faced, they lost. I wont say they dont look better but as far as making the playoffs, I cant make that judgment on them for sure yet. Hard to on most teams really. |

they went on a tear last second half, and nearly made the playoffs. and this team is better then last years team. they have young kids playing well, stable goaltending, and they can score. i think the leafs are a good team, and good teams find a way to win. they are doing that. they wont stay atop the NE division forever, but i see a 6th-8th place team in toronto. dont forget, theyve also figured out how to beat buffalo the last few games as well. |

I'm going to enjoy the hate fest in Canada as Montreal and Toronto switch places this season. |

I don't think this is going to last. Kessel isn't going to continue scoring at Wayne Gretzky's pace, and Reimer isn't going to be a workhorse goaltender that can win them 40 games. |

I won't say never on Reimer. He looks promising, but I don't think it'll happen this season. |

ironyisadeadscene wrote: the leafs were morons to trade TUUKKAAAAAAAAA We could have a 12-page thread exclusively on moronic moves the Leafs have made lately, and never mention the same decision twice. I'm telling you, Harold Ballard has put a monster curse on this team for signing Russians, and the decades of failure will continue. |

Boston 6-2. Looks like the Leafs were just what the Bs needed to get back on track. |

First of all, I humbly apologize for reviving a Leafs thread. But there is news that concerns me greatly. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=379587 OWEN SOUND, Ont. -- Someone has stolen a Stanley Cup ring that used to belong to former Toronto Maple Leafs owner Harold Ballard. Harold Ballard Jr., son of the late Leafs owner, reported some jewelry was stolen from his home in the Georgian Bay community of Tiny Township while he was away. Const. David Hobson of Ontario Provincial Police says the ring is "priceless." The ring is gold with an image of the Stanley Cup on its face. It has the four dates of the 1961-67 Toronto Maple Leaf Stanley Cup wins on its sides and Harold Ballard's name inscribed on the inside. Also taken was a Rolex watch, described as gold and silver in colour with a white face. The theft happened sometime between Oct. 13 and Oct. 20, said Hobson, adding anyone who sees the unusual ring should contact provincial police at the Southern Georgian Bay detachment. "I would say it falls in the category of priceless," Hobson said Thursday. "If either of these items has been seen out in the marketplace we'd be very much interested in hearing about it." I think we've all seen Lord of the Rings and know what's going on here. Minions of those who would have the Leafs reach the top have obviously taken that ring with the intention of destroying it, in an attempt to lift The Curse that the Ghost of Harold Ballard placed on the Leafs shortly after his death. If we can't recover that ring before it's too late, the only thing we can do is pray that The Curse is strong. |

Living in the heart of a leafs market makes me want to punch every leafs fan that think they are such a great team. I say to them just wait a couple weeks because they are bound to hit there usual 10 game losing streak. |
