Randy Cunneyworth will serve as the interim head coach until the end of the season.

Ownership that actually wants to win are known to fire coaches who aren't getting good results from their players. They don't over analyze and expect the players to be the catalyst of change.

Only in Buffalo...........

Lindy went to the cup final in 1999. That seems good enough to keep him here indefinitely it seems...

apparently that how it works (i agree with you that lindy should be gone). that being said...

about fucking time Cunneyworth is a head coach in the NHL. i would love to see him replace Lindy eventually.

Kevin Dineen would have been my choice. Another good one we let get away...

Either give Lindy until the end of December, or give him one game more.

It's about time we got a new coach behind our bench.

That's the million dollar question.... No one really knows. What else can be done except completely blow up the roster at the end of the season.

Sometimes firing a coach, especially one of Lindy's stature, gives a new spark to the team because there gets to be a mentality like, "Oh shit, no one is safe." Not that we can know for sure because we're not in the locker room, but it could be that Lindy is just ineffective in having the team respond to him. It certainly appears that way to us. Firing Lindy could be a way to force the team to get motivated because if we bring in a new head coach and they still suck, then it falls on the players.

I honestly think the situation with Lindy is a little complicated and that it seems too tough to fire him. I know we all think that it shouldn't matter how long he has been in the organization, but I think it does.

Kudos to Cunneyworth. I always liked him as a coach, and that's quite a gig for your first shot as boss in the NHL.

That's fine, give him a shot with different players. The core has been on this team waaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Majority of them have been in the system 5+ years with a few pushing 10.

Ruff has had 14yrs with numerous different players and nothing has worked.
