Watching the playoffs I have seen at least 5 to 6 instances where a player will take short strides or go half speed going back for the puck and it barely crosses the line and the automaton linesman throws up his arm for icing. I know you all have seen the same thing. These often occur at important times of the game. On two occasions the announcer even commented on how slow the defenseman got back, and on one occasion, referring to Chara, how clever he was to not hustle back. This is just sloppy, lazy, officiating and I'm surprised that such a magnificent organization as the NHL hasn't done anything about it. |
