With the current roster Buffalo should have a max of 7.5-8.0 mil in cap room. Next summer they only have four RFAs (Hodgson, Adam, Weber, Enroth) with only Hodgson possibly requiring more than 2 mil per. UFAs will be Roy, Ellis, Regehr, Leopold, Sulzer...so nobody that has to be re-signed as long as Grigorenko, McNabb, and Brennan or Pysyk develop. If those prospects turn out right, Buffalo will have a net gain of about 6 mil in cap space plus the increase in the cap limit...so at least 18 mil (8+6+at least 4). Could be a nice shopping spree next summer, with players available like Getzlaf, Perry, Clowe, and EDLER! |
