Tim Connolly was put on waivers list by Leafs. I feel kind of sad for him but I think he will be picked up.

I feel really bad for him. He got his career derailed by the goonery that the NHL has allowed for far too long. Headshots and cheap shots have been an issue for 20 years in the league and they just finally started cracking down on them.

I hope he lands somewhere but I highly doubt he's going to.

Even before his injury though, he could just never put it all together and make it work. He played to his talent level for maybe two or three months in 2006. I know it's not a meaningful comparison, but give me a Stu Barnes with far less talent but far more heart any day.

I think he just needs the right people around him. I wouldn't be surprised if Vancouver picks him up until Kesler comes back... The leafs will prolly buy him out so I'm sure whoever lands him will get him for like 80% less than what he was making

Leafs reportedly aren't buying him out. They want him to play with the Marlies.

There would be no point in buying him out. His cap hit stays unless someone claims him off waivers or he is traded.

This is exactly what happened.
He's cleared and his agent has said he'll report to the Marlies.

Interestingly enough he's never played a single game in the AHL.
I'm guessing we'll see him back up at some point this season....
