From a purely hockey perspective, this was a great move, and teams that do things like this should be rewarded. On the other hand, I just can't like the Pens. I don't have a good reason. I just can't. |

Iggy seems like an overall nice guy. The type of person you'd want as your neighbour. I don't blame him for considering his best shot at capturing a ring, but after this? No fucking way would I lend him my lawn mower; he can cut his grass with his ass cheeks. |

The best part of this deal is the fact that Calgary and Boston had come to terms, but Iggy wanted to go to the Pens instead. Anyone who gives the Bruins a personal "fuck you" like this is okay in my book. |

With Iginla and Morrow they added even more grit and leadership for the playoffs with enough time to figure out line combos. I hate the Pens but Ray Shero had a genius month. |

Mortgage the future for the present. If they don't win the cup this year, they will be hurting later on in the years. 2 unsigned college players and their first round draft choice in this year's draft. |

If I were a fan I'd love these moves even if they don't win the cup. Nobody knows if the prospects will be NHL players and the first round pick will be a very late one. I mean, if they traded Gerbe (as an unsigned college player) a few years ago for a proven veteran, it wouldn't hurt us right now. They have a good team and went all in, as a fan I'd love it. |

They'll have Crosby, Malkin, and I assume Neal for a long time. I think that overrides that. |

Were has that gotten them? If they get rid of all their depth players, who is to say those three players don't have bad years later. |

Crosby and Malkin are WAY better than Richards and Nash in terms of point production. Better than Gaborik, too. Those two players are the types that don't have bad years, and if you have two of them you can tell you'll most likely have an excellent year from at least one of them. |

But the Rangers have arguably one of the best goalies in the league, The Pens do not. Those role players do wonders for teams. Just because they have three great players on their team doesn't mean they will be a dominate force for years to come. What if Crosby or Malkin get injured again? What about Ottawa when they had the Pizza line? Yea, they were great until they met a complete team in the playoffs. Vancouver also has some of the best players in this league, yet they still fall short, but one could argue Thomas was just unbeatable or else Vancouver would have won that series and the cup. Oh yea, Malkin in 2010-2011, he had 37 points in 43 games. 2009-2010, 77 in 67. I know one of those years was still over PPG, but those are bad years filled with injuries to Malkin. And Malkin isn't tearing up the scoresheet this year either, 25 points in 22 games so far. Probably the most complete team from top to bottom this year has to be the Blackhawks though. |

Rangers get nowhere with the best goalie in the league, Pens have an average goalie like Fluery. As long as the pens have Crosby and Malkin, they're fine. Because the chance of both getting injured then the rest of the team blowing, isn't likely. |

If he is as horrendous as he was last year, the Mighty Pens get knocked out once again. But no fear, the Cup isn't coming to the East. The West will continue to hold the Cup for another year. |
