Of course they start with the two best teams from this year's regular season. There wouldn't be much fanfare for a Predators at Sabres matchup, so can we for once stop the sour grapes about Pittsburgh (and Crosby). They're a better team than Buffalo period. |

Regardless of whether this is the 1st announced or the 1,000th announced, the Sabres are a bad team. The Penguins and the Blackhawks boast some of the best players in the entire world. The NHL is dumb not to take advantage of that. |

At least this game will be at a football stadium, like it should be. Better sight lines and more people than a baseball stadium. |

I know some Pens fans that aren't overly stoked to see their team in yet another WC/OD game. From the marketing standpoint, I get why the league is putting these two teams in this event, just as they did when it was the Caps and Pens; trying to hype up the Ovi vs Sid thing, all for the mighty dollar. As cool as it would be to see the Sabres involved in another, I more so just want to see different teams involved in this event. As for the other games which will be played outside, I think it's over-stimulation and exposure to what is an awesome game. I think having two games per season would be more than enough. Either one for Canada and one for the US (Heritage Classic/Winter Classic) or one for the West and one for the Eastern conf. Also, I think it’s total bullshit the Rags are scheduled to play two games at Yankee Stadium next season. |

There should be a 5 year moratorium on outdoor games. I don't think it gets non-hockey fans to suddenly enjoy the game. If MLB tried some weird venue change gimmick and put it on national TV I still wouldn't watch that boring game. |
