Capitals' two-time MVP Alex Ovechkin 'week-to-week' with upper-body strain

"ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals say Alex Ovechkin is "week-to-week" with an upper-body injury.

The Capitals said Monday that the two-time league MVP suffered an "upper-body strain" in Sunday's overtime loss to Columbus. Ovechkin had an MRI and will travel with the team while receiving treatment."

...looked like knee or thigh contact with Torres, last night - But, the way he lurched and bent over, might well have been an abdominal strain.

This will definitely harm the Caps' place in the standings. Sounds serious.

damnit.... I was hoping for a ridiculous year in goals for him.....
UGH... 50 in 50..... not anymore
not even a chance at the record either (not that there was really much of one anyway), but still... this kinda kills the magic that could have been surrounding it

Opponents are really going to have to take advantage of this. Washington still has some firepower, but it sucks when you lose the main gun of course

No one will ever top 50 goals in 38 games, period.

Man, he is one of my biggest goal getters for my fantasy team. Hopefully it's not as serious as some say it could be, and hopefully it is only a day-to-day thing.

This is HUGE loss for the Caps. They do have some other talent but if Ovie isn't the one scoring, he is usually the one setting up the play or having the primary assist. It'll be interesting to see what the Caps do without the Great 8.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

I always get that one confused.

But you would have to score 50 in 38 to break his record anyways. :P

Haha.
