Is it really that big of an issue?

Unless it's proven that the Flames acted wrongly in acquiring those vaccines, then no. So far, it looks like Alberta's bad.

I lied and said that I had asthma in order to get the shot. Oops. At Buff State, they were only giving students who had pre-existing medical conditions the shot, while the rest were given the nasal spray.

I know here in NS, they anticipated a lot more of the shot. Seems to be the case country wide and I think the AB. health officials were sure they would be getting a major ass load of the vaccine so they likely didn't think it would be an issue to give it to the Flames players/staff before anyone else. Now that the supply/demand has become more of an issue than they were anticipating, everyone is getting up on their soap box and losing their minds over it. I didn't get it yet, was supposed to go next Monday but until further notice all clinics have been canceled/rescheduled to fit the needs of the, well, more needy. I'm fine with waiting.

What I have a problem is that provincial health officials are saying that only first line emergency personnel are qualified to receive the shot. My girlfriend is a medic (who just by chance got her shot when doing a transfer to a hospital which was giving it to it's staff) and she found out the clinics have been delayed for EMT's as of yesterday because they're not considered "First response".

When you call 9-11 and require medical assistance, who normally shows up at the scene? A nurse? Doctor? Janitor?

I do believe that someone high up from Alberta Health Care was canned for this.

They could have ended up like Edmonton with all there players sidelined!
