An argument over the late hour of the Pittsburgh Penguins' triple-overtime playoff loss led a South Fayette man to fatally beat his wife with a hammer and stab her before setting the house on fire, police said Friday.

Robert Abrams, 40, hit his wife, Jeanette Abrams, 44, in the head with a hammer at least 10 times and stabbed her four times with a knife, investigators said.

"It was very brutal," said Dr. Karl Williams, the Allegheny County medical examiner.

County police said Robert Abrams set fire to his Locust Lane home about 3 a.m. in an effort to cover up the killing.

Oh yeah, he killed his dog in the fire too. I hope they throw multiple books at him.

I don't know what is happening to my fair city but it's not good. In just the past 3 years a kid goes postal and kill three cops, a middle aged successful man shoots up an LA Fitness, and now this maniac!

And oh yeah, gun fights in the hoods every week. The crime rate is sky rocketing and men are losing their minds!
