As any of you who read my last writing thread know, I finished my vampire novel (currently being reviewed by The L. Perkins Agency...woot!) and began writing Arnett Tanner Wants to Die, which I detailed before.

I have come up with several other ideas I may or may not pursue in the next few weeks (since work on ATWtD is a bit slow).

The Ideas:

A Thriller/Fantasy about a character who lives in two separate worlds. He goes to bed at night, and as soon as he falls asleep, he wakes up in the other. Even though it isn't possible, he spends a typical day (16 hrs or so awake, 8 hrs asleep) in both worlds, every "day." As time passes, some things begin to blur together and he starts to progressively insane. I'm not sure about the length, I think I would shoot for a shorter novel, around 50,000 words (roughly a 120-150 page paperback).

A Super Hero-esque story about two people who share thoughts. I think initially they are diagnosed as insane, but they come to realize that the voices they here are the cognitive thoughts of the other. They can share any information at will across any distance without any communication outside of thought. I might also make this a romance instead, the idea is kind of half baked right now, haha.

A generational love story, following the idea (somewhat touched on in the movie What Dreams May Come) that reincarnation is fact, and that two people in love can return to find each other again. The story would track these two people across several eras (my thoughts were to take them through the era of each major American War) as they struggle to find each other.

I would like to do a story about a Superhero Telekinetic. I know the idea has been done to a certain extent with several comic book characters (Jean Gray for example), but I'd like to just create the character and see where it goes. I don't even think I want the character to be a hero, just someone that likes to fuck around with the ability.

Anything look interesting?

If you made the first idea into a book I would read it.

A generational love story? I'd steer away from that - do you wanna write the next The Lake House?

I think the first idea is money money as well.

Do the first idea, it probably has been done before, sorta like a Beautiful Mind type thing, but it was sleeping it was his schizophrenia though.

Still a solid idea to me, just do it.

I'd probably read all of them, but I'm a nondiscriminatory reader. Your third idea might be better off as a screenplay though :/

Yeah, I'm a big movie person so I tend to have a very visual mind. While this can be an asset in physically describing characters, it can also be a hindrance because there are some things that are great visually, but do not translate well to text.

Yeah, I'm with Woz, and I doubt anything I wrote would be anything like either of those. Two writers could start off with the exact same idea and you'd never know it. I think this is how we got democrats and republicans.
