Loved his music but honestly, as a person I don't know much about him. He's a pop icon and unless it's a rare case, I tend not to pay much attention to those kind of people.

I don't judge this person for saying that Lennon's work had an impression on her. Plenty of artists are influenced by the work of those long dead.

I just find it laughable that anyone could have an impression ON A 3 YEAR OLD. She rambled more this morning about how his murder 'affected her'. How? Did she eat less baby food that day or something?

Maybe baby constipation? Nipple rejection due to stress? Depression resulting in hair loss and diaper rash?

Exactly.

Three-year-olds have the capacity to be deeply affected by circumstances and/or events in their lives; I was. However, that John Lennon was someone she did not know would definitely have precluded that, I think. Death itself is too abstract for children any younger than 4-5 to really grasp, and the fact that he was not someone she could have personally known just adds to that.
