He enlisted for 3 years (although they own him for 8.)
In Army lingo, he stays at FLW although he isn't considered OSUT. He'll start 7 weeks of AIT on Sunday for MOS 88-M ;)

In English, he'll remain at Fort Leonard Wood for 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. His Military Occupational Specialty is Motor Transport Operator. Most people get "shipped out" to another base after Basic Combat Training for AIT.

The ones that stay on the same base in the same location are called One Stop Unit Training. He doesn't fall under OSUT (even though he stays at FLW) because he will physically move to a different location on the base for AIT.

The next 7 weeks will consist of learning how to operate and repair 40 vehicles. Motor Transport can deliver anything from food & supplies or weapons to the front lines or anywhere they are told to go.

He should be done around 12/10 and hopefully be home for a bit before being stationed or deployed to who knows where at this point.

We don't know if his gf has passed PT or not yet. She is supposed to Graduate 10/30 but was 11 sit ups short of passing as of last week.

Thanks for all the well wishes :D

Congrats! I thought of you today when I saw the Military blurb in the newspaper today. How did he become a Motor Transport Operator, like are you allowed to pick what speciality you have?
