When I first started reading, I kind of thought, "Oh man. Another one of these freaking sites?"

About 10 minutes later, I realized how sucked into reading it I was.

Today was Thanksgiving, and I was working a 8 hour shift at a gas station instead. One of the regulars brought me a Thanksgiving Dinner, and when I went on break to eat it outside, another regular ( a very broke homeless man) came and sat with me so I wouldn't be alone, and we shared our dinners GMH

In the small town where I go to university there was a homeless man who did small chalk drawings, always in the same spot, on the pavement. He was always smiling. Over the summer, when I was away, he died. When I returned his old space was full of cards, flowers and chalk drawings from local people saying how much they will miss him. GMH

Awww. :')

I just man-teared reading these. No lie.
These are inspiring as fuck, especially when mixed with Modest Mouse - Missed the Boat.

Thanks for posting these. I needed an uplift.

Why did you link to page 2?

This has been my favorite site for a while. I hate the rest, for the record. MLIA was good in the beginning, but it's become nothing but a dump for memes and things that didn't even happen to people. Not funny at all.

A boy in my sister's high school lost his mother to suicide this year. The Christmas gifts he is buying his little brothers are essentials like socks and underwear. He was sad one day because his little brothers are asking for a Wii, which he can't afford. My sister bought the game system for the boy to give to his brothers. Her selflessness GMH

OMG Tears.

I bought my one friend an Ipod because if I recall correctly, hers was stolen.

Proofs that little kids and (good) parents are the greatest things in the world...

I was born when my dad was 21. He was in college. My mom ended up having severe mental disorders, and was not able to care for me at all and so my dad raised me from a baby to the 20 year old student I am now. My dad had to sell blood sometimes just to feed me. He ended up going to law school and now he owns a firm and pays for my school. He GMH.

Today I was babysitting for a 5-year-old and a 7-year old. The 5-year-old is really afraid of thunder. When it started to thunder, I was surprised when she didn't come ask me to lay in her bed. I went to check and saw her big sister cuddling with her and telling her that thunder was just angels bowling. GMH

I was crying after a bad day. My three year old brother came into my room and cuddled in bed with me. When I didn't acknowledge him, he went out to the kitchen and came back with an ice cream sandwich and his favorite stuffed animal. He put them in bed beside me and petted my hair. His love GMH

Today at the senior center I volunteer at, I found out that one client, a 60+yr old widowed man, who raised 5 daughters on his own, once heard a woman in his church was pregnant and planned to abort. He told her he would take the baby instead and raise it as his own. He's now raising a 10 year old. He GMH

The other day I was babysitting for a 7 year old boy and he asked me if a boy had ever kissed me. When I told him no he grabbed my hand and planted a big kiss on it. His love GMH

I've always had low self-esteem, and on the wrong day, just looking in the mirror can make me cry. Today was one of those days, until my three year old daughter walked up, hugged me and said "You're the most beautiful mama in the world." My daughter GMH.

etc. etc. etc.

I've gone through that entire site so many times, every page, aaaand now I'm doing it again.

A boy was dying of cancer and needed an expensive brain surgery, but his family, broke and desperate, couldn't afford it. His 8 yr old took sister Tess took her piggy bank savings to a pharmacist in order to buy a 'miracle'. it just so happens that the right man witnessed the little girl's tears at the pharmacy counter: a neurosurgeon. He performed the surgery for free.

I like these stories but I wonder how many are really true.
