With all due respect Phil, that's great for you if you don't find it offensive, but I do. I'm part French Canadian myself and I have many living relatives who happen to be Quebecois, and the xenophobic stereotypes made about French Canadians are insulting to me. But whatever, I'm not here looking for an argument. I'll merely step out of this thread.

Thing is, blu, and I can't speak for everyone in Montreal, but just from what I see on other hockey boards that are more Habs-centric, that they've got their own xenophobic stereotypes about Americans spouted endlessly. Do we Americans get up in arms? No.

The vibe I get from my Canadian friends is that the Quebecois spend just as much time mother fucking the rest of Canada as they do mother fucking Americans.

I don't think it's an issue, since I tend not to value the opinion of someone who would generalize a person based on their area of residence or language.

no. we simply do not like ohio. its probably something to do with the whole war over toledo. anyways, we seriously do not like ohio, and they do not like us. they are ass backwards down there.

i think its defense mechanism in us michiganders to dislike some of our neighbours because while they have flourished, we have perished in the past 50 years. its likely why people from western new york are so enthusiastic about being proud where they are from.

regardless, we dont like ohio (probably also cause they have better fireworks) and we dont care for Illinois as well.

but, we do HATE ohio state. argh, hate.
