Aw how the hell could I forget Andy Richter Controls the Universe. Hilarious.

And Tru Calling was really good, but I understand why it was canceled. It was like a better version of early edition though.

Funny tidbit:

When I wrote my last post, I noticed my spelling of "cancelled" was different from that in the thread title. Of course I had to know which spelling was right. Turns out CV's is more correct, as they call it the American spelling (canceled), and mine the British spelling (cancelled).

I guess that's what I get for reading too many British books and magazines.

I was kind of wondering about that since Canceled didn't look quite right to me.

This Just In!

(it was a cartoon on Spike for 1/2 a season then all references to it were wiped off the face of the earth. Loved that show)

Here's a few shows that were dropped from last year that I enjoyed watching.

Pushing Daisies
The Unusuals
Worst Week
Kath & Kim
My Name is Earl
Life on Mars
Bionic Woman
My Own Worst Enemy
Defying Gravity

-
Prison Break and Harper's Island don't really count, we knew they were limited run shows to begin with, like Lost will be at the end of this coming season.

Arrested Development. It was a great show. Not always laugh-out-loud hilarious (although sometimes it was), but very entertaining. I would have liked to see what they could have done had the series ran longer.

My So-Called Life should have had more than one season, for crying out loud.

I can't really think of any others.

I want to say Monk, but that show had a nice long run, and Tony Shalhoub didn't wait for it to suck before he decided to stop so that he could spend more time with the family... It ended at a good place, really. I just want to throw it in here because it's my favorite show.

I voted Arrested Development. I loved that show.

Pushing Daisies was a great show too.

I also liked Jericho, the show about a small mid-west town after all the major cities were nuked. It was a really interesting show with a good story line. To bad they had to cancel it prematurely.

Jericho did look good.

Personally I chose Firefly. Do not mess with the Whedon.

I was the other Firefly vote. A terrific series that was done in by boneheaded FOX scheduling.

In retrospect Star Trek is an obvious choice, but only in retrospect. The ratings were mediocre during its entire run and the third (and final) season was pretty bad. Also, who knows if Star Trek would have become the phenom it is today if it hadn't been cancelled. I was shocked that after 40 years it has once again made a comeback with a new movie and new cast. I don't think there has ever been anything like it on television, in terms of its longevity and cultural impact.

You're a lil young so I'll set you straight :P

Star Trek did receive bad overall ratings, but that was before the nielsen ratings were split into different demographics. They later found that it was the highest rated TV show for a 20-40 year old audience, which was the most sought after demographic.

Fox did the same thing to Dollhouse, scheduled it at 9:00 PM on Friday. Well that time slot sucks because people are all going out.

If only. Then I'd be a 60 year old moron instead of a 23 year old moron, and still young physically!

Futurama. Hands down one of the best cartoons ever.

The cleveland show didnt need to exist, but Family Guy really is funny.............Its just dumbed down humor thats all. Kinda like the blue collar comedy tour/show/cd/dvd/condom
