Hoi gang,

Well thanks to Phil I had some pretty decent info on what to do/places to see when the Mrs. and I make our trip down for the season opener. Unfortunately, my puter shit the bed and I lost everything including a lot of what was provided to me :(

So, I ask thee, fellow Sabres fans.. what would you recommend as good eateries, places to see before and after the game on Saturday night? We've got our hotel room for the night (The Hampton up on of Delaware) and we're gonna be looking for stuff to do somewhat in the same local of our hotel and/or HSBC.

Any and all info you folks can pass along would be muchly appreciated! Oh and please forgive me lil lady, she knows not what she does (She's a habs fan and will be in full attire) should we run into any of you fine folks at the game :P

Thanks gang!!!

If you are coffee fans there is a Spot coffee near your hotel. Also before the game go to Pearl Street for food. It's in walking distance and the food is really good and they have lots of good beer.

...don't know if anyone's suggested this, yet:

The Founding Fathers Restaurant

It's a wonderful, little place with an American Revolutionary/Americana theme, a great selection of top-shelf liquors and Ginormous sammiches.

And Mike, the owner/barkeep, knows the largest repertoire of filthy jokes of anyone I've ever met. And I'm a connoisseure, in that regard...

You're probably talking about the Canadian side, Mike, since the American side pretty much sucks.

Very cool info gang! Thanks for the insight on the Founding Fathers Ice!!! We'll deff have to stop in there! Considering were gonna be in town about 8 or 9 am, we're gonna need some good java mell, so kudos on that!

Keep me posted Phil as to what's happening the day of the game. If you'll be off or what not. I'll see what I can do about bringing some Alexander Keith's across the boarder for ya as payment for being a tour guide! ;)

Another fine establishment (within walking distance of where you'll be staying - As is Founding Fathers) is:

D'Arcy McGee's Irish Pub

They have a very broad menu that includes an excellent Traditional Irish (lamb) Stew - They also have Irish Music, on select dates, a fine selection or Ports and Whiskies, as well as a well-stocked, walk-in humidor (should one enjoy a good cigar) upstairs.

A touch on the pricey side, but well worth it, if you're looking to indulge yourselves.

Sláinte

The Canadian Ballet is always a great option.
