No, it's subjective.
Do I think it's fair? Yes.
There are judges from all over the world and all tasting is done blind.

That isn't just another list...it's THE list.

Sorry. The old world is old and stuck in lame tradition.
Germany and Austria are being left behind. At least the Belgians know how to keep up.

That's a fine rebuttal.
I've forgotten more about beer than you'll ever know.

I think the oldest beer school (still operating) as well as the worlds premiere yeast bank is actually Weihenstephan in Bavaria.

Now that I'm home and can actually type a little....I just wanted to say that my assertion that the Budweiser label is the "most recognizable label in the world" had nothing to do with any assertions of my preferences in beer, any assertions on it's quality as it pertains to taste, color, or any other qualities that actually matter in beer to me or anyone else.

I stick with my original post based on the fact that American Budweiser branded by that label, for better or worse, was the dubbed the "most popular" and "best selling" beer the world over (notwithstanding the 4 countries in the EU where its still sold, but legally can't be called Budweiser) for many, many years, only being eclipsed somewhere around 2002-03 by another AB brand, Bud Light. Bud Light held the position for only about 5 years, being eclipsed by a little known Chinese lager known as Snow in 2007. That is likely due to the fact that there are 1.3 billion Chinese...... they can make just about anything they want the "best selling" in the world market.

FAIL? I think not....... ;) If I failed, then name one beer that is more recognizable the world over....not just your corner.

I also agree with Crosscheck. If I'm in it for the buzz, I'm not drinking beer.

I had Budweiser over in Germany in 1980. It was, at least at that time; not the same pisswater Bud is in this country.

Still, the Dab was fine indeed........

I've managed to have a lot of Chinese beers in my day. They're actually pretty decent, my dad mentioned something about German seige on a city named tsing tao in ww1. Germans stayed there and hung out for a bit, their brewing traditions as well... Chinese beers = German beers

I've never heard of 'snow'... the ones i've seen are tsing tao and yanjing

War often does bring cultural exchange. I find the transition and progression of cultures to be interesting. Beer is one kick-ass facet of culture.

I have a case of tsing tao sitting in my warm garage. It's been there for over a year. That's just about the most disrespectful thing I've ever done to a beer.
My wife is Chinese and it was a gift from someone in her family because I'm that big white guy that drinks a lot.
Rice water piss I tell ya. I don't think they bother to use barley at all.

and yes...Germans spread breweries all over the place...all the big Mexican breweries were started by Germans just like here in the US.

I once left a case of Land Shark in the trunk of my car for a year, and then the Silver Creek flood happened, and my trunk is still in possession of that Land Shark. Yep. Land Shark is blech.
