I am one of two people who chose that I do it often.

And that I do.

He still posts here.

Bash all you want if you've never tried it, because your view on it means absolute shit.

You can say all you want how badly effects you or someone else, but if you've never experienced it, then how the fuck do you know how it effects yourself or one another?

Facts are Facts, more people die in drunk driving crashes than Pot crashes, more people get killed by sober drivers than ones doing some weed.

Keep your judgmental opinions away, because they are invalid and are worthless if YOU have never done it.

In Skyline's defense folks, depending on what you smoke and how much of it you smoke, driving will high is not difficult.

If you want to put it into perspective, I'd be willing to bet big money that there are 20 times more accidents that are cell phone related than there are accidents that are Cannabis related.

In many cases, driving while under the influence of marijuana can make drivers more attentive to the task at hand.

That said, it is much like alcohol, and you have to know when it's okay and when it's not based on how you're feeling.

At the same time, weed doesn't impair your abilities even close to the way alcohol does.

More people are killed by sober drivers than ones doing weed because the sober drivers who kill people are by far mostly either asleep, on cell phones, or texting. In all three cases, the driver is either not giving his full attention to the road or is not paying attention at all. The percentage of fatal car accidents caused by someone under the influence of marijuana is far greater than the percentage caused by those who are sober and not otherwise distracted. Either way, whether marijuana, texting, or falling asleep is the case, the driver is still impaired in some way, whether you believe that or not. your perception of your abilities is not going to be the same when you're high as it when you are sober. If it were, there would be no advantage to getting high in the first place and no reason to do it.

Anyway. I'm not going to debate this any more. It's not my life that you are speaking of.

The main thing I hate is people who bash something they've never tried before.

You've never tried it, don't think you know what it does.

If there was a "Yes, rarely" option, I'd vote.

Well, I modified the poll for more options and it trashed the results. Please revote people.

Well, I voted. I don't have a problem with using it, with people using it, or with the cultural and economic ramifications of it being legalized. I think that about sums it up.

I would ask this question as a follow up: If you answered "never have, never will" why do you feel that way? No judgment here, just curious.

I'm in the same boat as ETC with his curiosity surrounding the votes for "never have, never will".

It just doesn't have any appeal to me.

And my lungs aren't that great either.

Take a look:

Quote:
The largest study of its kind has unexpectedly concluded that smoking marijuana, even regularly and heavily, does not lead to lung cancer.

The new findings "were against our expectations," said Donald Tashkin of the University of California at Los Angeles, a pulmonologist who has studied marijuana for 30 years.

"We hypothesized that there would be a positive association between marijuana use and lung cancer, and that the association would be more positive with heavier use," he said. "What we found instead was no association at all, and even a suggestion of some protective effect."

Reasonable enough.

I would say rarely doing it for me. I only do it when I'm around certain people, and that might be once a month, or even 6 months, it all really depends.

I'll come to Skyline's defense but for different reasons. He mentioned (in passing) one night that he had smoked up and drove and took some real shit for it. While it's probably not a great idea, I've never heard of anyone blacking out from pot, driving, and killing innocent people unlike those in a bar drinking.

PSP, I like your take on knowing when to stop, but that isn't always possible.

I don't know any pot smokers who hang out in bars and drive. I only know drinkers (since I work in the restaurant industry) and they are oh so dangerous. Alcohol impairs everything and I firmly believe it is addictive.

Pot smokers just hang out: Eat, chill, play Guitar Hero, act retarded, and laugh. Alcoholics, no matter what the consequence, drive no matter how fucked up they are.

Although I don't imbibe in marijuana, I know that neither are good if you're being a wheel. Just say "no" if you're driving.

I smoked a lot of pot before I went out drinking with my friends last night.

Does that break the mold for you a little bit?

Smoking before I go out helps me feel the booze better, so I know how drunk I really am before it's too late to stop drinking.

Plus, it keeps me relaxed. I get really anxious around big crowds in tightly packed places (bars, clubs) and being high keeps that anxiety away.

I also take public transportation every time I drink.

The few times I've smoked pot I was dizzier than all hell...Shit, I was uneasy lying on a couch, much less driving a car. I think it depends on how chemicals affect you as a person. Meds affect me often times the opposite of how they are intended. I became hyper on a valium/demerol drip when hospitalized, always get a boost of energy from Nyquil, and find stimulants tend to calm me down.

For me, alcohol tends to increase my alertness and clarity, at least until I'm piss drunk when I am a puddle just like anybody else, while pot only turned me into a nauseous, dizzy mess.
