Although... I could also argue that they aren't fulfilling their obligations to the shareholders, also.

By taking a risk like this, the value of Wal Mart's shares could take a steep drop due to the negative PR associated with this type of situation.

I dunno...Wal Mart has been widely criticized for years on any number of fronts and they just keep going.
Their stock has been fine whether they're selling sweatshop made, lead laden toys or denying healthcare to their employees...they just keep growing and people keep shopping there.
