I wouldn't mind getting rid of the tent. My biggest gripe is I think they should raise the screen higher so no matter what your height is, you can still see. I understand why they put the tent there, but if its a nice day and there's not really a chance of rain, take it down. and if they're still worried then put a small tent over top of it to protect the screen and stage.

Either way, it was still a very fun environment and it's always nice to be around passionate sabres fans.

That's the winning post right there.

I do think that the tent contributed to some of the hostilities as everyone was crowding in there trying to see. They would do well to think about not using is.

Well the other major issue to the hostility was the amount of drinking they let go on. I mean, I'd of been perfectly content limiting beer to 2 per person; because some people were so drunk they couldn't even spell their own names. Sure it's a money maker, but I had about 8-10 beers when you think about it, and there were people way more hammered than me there.

Just a thought; but I can see why they used to limit it.

They did cut it off a few times, I think.

I was the last person allowed in line during the first intermission for beer and it was only about 5 minutes after the horn had gone.

I heard on the news that they cut off beer sales after the 2nd period because fans were getting too drunk.

Good idea - I don't see why fans would object to following the rules of the arena outside but still on the premises.

Wtahcing on TV, I think the tent makes the crowd look a lot smaller than when we saw the PITP crowd 3 years ago. It looked like the crowd went on forever vs. this defined space their in now.

Good for them on the beer limit and dumping the tent.

Nobody wants to deal with crowd fights down there.

Didn't people stop going after they put in the beer limit last time?

For me, I would rather the people who want to go out and just get sloppy drunk, have them go to the local bars and support their business. For those that want to be outside, watch some quality hockey, and be able to take their kids, families, etc, then they can go to the plaza. Sure it's not going to stop ALL the problems, but typically when you mix 8000 people + alcohol + limited enforcement on rules, things are going to get outa hand.

3 beer limit...oh well, I guess I won't be coming to the plaza...not that I would get sloppy drunk...but 3 beers is hardly anything

I think it's pathetic people are pissed about a 3 beer limit. People were fucking obnoxious at the plaza and it was so annoying.

On the other hand, yay for removing the tent. Short people like me can see now! :)

people can still drink beforehand and blah de blah. Is only being able to buy 3 beers that really a big deal?
I'm excited the tent is going down though! yay!!

And geez with beer being $5.50 a pop I don't know why people are complaining. Go get your 30 rack of Keystone for the same as price as 2 beers.

My mother and sixteen-year-old brother are there at the moment. I'm so jealous haha. I'd be there with them if I were home.
