i actually didnt mind roarke. his character could have used some help but he himself wasnt bad.

i'm not saying i minded him, i think he was fine. i just don't think he had a part capable of being called awesome. it was an easy part with very little dialogue.

I just think that they could have removed Samuel L. Jackson and the rest of the cameos for the Avengers and used that time to build whiplash more. Information about the Avengers was nice and I guess needed for the film but I think they tried to cram it down our throats.

I liked having all those nods and allusions thrown in, seeing as this should have been more of a fan-service than an introductory vehicle (which it was).

Jeff Simon of the Buffalo News said during his review that (to him) the scenes featuring Tony were more fun than the scenes featuring Iron Man, and I think he's right. It's what I love about the Iron Man series (comics, I mean) - no matter what he's up to, Tony can steal a scene without needing his suit. That being said, when they finally brought in War Machine and introduced the new Iron Man armor with the triangular unibeam (Mk.IV?), it was tits.

Speaking of, Scarlett Johansson. Oh. My. God. Please to be staying an auburn. PUH-LEEZ!

Mickey Roarke is awesome, but not because of his acting chops. He's awesome because he just oozes sleazeball vibes, and is perfect for Vanko because of it.

i wasnt really thrilled with the way they handled the characters. they tried having everyone (with their own plots) front and center the whole time. there wasnt really and "depth" to it that i think would have improved it.

It reminded me of the X Men Origins film, very little character development and a lot of cameos. Granted it was way better than Origins, it still had the same vibe,

exactly, thank you  . ive been trying to find a movie to compare it to.

for me they should have handled it more like the Incredible Hulk movie. where they had Ross and Abomination has villians but the importance of said villians in the movie changed through out the story. like i would have liked to see Hammer realized that he fucked up, or realize that Stark was a "necessary evil" to fix his fuck up. or to have Fury show up but not exactly have a long conversation with Stark. to keep him mysterious and not Jules Winnfield with an eye patch.

Except that Nick Fury in The Ultimates basically is Jules Winfield with an eye-patch and a Department of Defense position

i havent read The Ultimates...even so, i would have saved that for the Avengers movie and kept him kind of mysterious. :D

My thoughts on that link, Woz. (Wrapped in spoiler tags for anyone with virgin eyes)

I have to debunk their theory on Namor. A spot smack-dab in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean? Could be where Thor's base of operations is (you'll need to read The Ultimates to understand this). Obviously, two locations for Thor would be redundant, but if you (again) read The Ultimates, you'd get where I'm coming from.

I also don't know why there'd be a circle concentrating on Germany, as Red Skull is a villain and not a hero. As far as I can tell about that site, they're mostly theorizing on who the members of The Avengers would be, so adding a villain into that list is whack. I can't think of anyone who comes from that region that would be a hero, so hmmm...

I like their line on thinking on including Black Panther, though, for all the reasons they listed (Cap's shield being made of the vibranium, and also that T'Challa was a temporary member of The Avengers).

It's safe to assume we already know who all the members of The Avengers in the film will be because of the previously established characters and upcoming films. The Hulk and Iron Man already have been established, and Thor, Captain America, and Ant Man & The Wasp have films coming up. To me, that shows a roster set in stone. I wouldn't be against Black Panther being in The Avengers because I think he's badass, but it doesn't make sense to have him highlighted. Red Skull, either.

i too will use the spoiler tag.

i agree with your for the most part. while i believe the Marvel will eventually make a Namor movie, its almost impossible for them not to. however i havent heard anything about a Namor movie being made.

They are actually making a Black Panther movie. i havent seen an actual release date but it is on marvels "things to do" list. i havent seen anything for the Wasp but i guess she would go hand in hand with Ant Man.

the inclusion of Red Skull could be a possible villain for the Avengers. Although i am in more favor of Fury calling on the Avengers to take down the Hulk. having a "normal" villian would work too.

Yet another spoiler tag haha

I had no idea Black Panther was on their to-do list, but it's a good idea. However, my basis for who will be in The Avengers is based totally on the films they already have in the pipeline as coming out before the film The Avengers hits theaters.

I would love for The Avengers to take on Hulk in the first film, as it would be a fun thing to see the first story arc of The Ultimates set to screen. It'll be great once The Avengers happens because they won't have to spend any time on hero character development given that each hero will have already been established in a previous film/films.

Also, it seems Cap is gonna have a second villain in his film besides Red Skull. Mad geneticist and SS associate Arnim Zola has been revealed to be played by Toby Jones, who is a fantastic veteran character actor. Given this revelation, I think Captain America is going to be pretty sci-fi and I love that.

I saw the first one only because I was on my honeymoon flight to Italy and I think we watched 32 in-flight movies, but I was impressed. Saw the second the other night. LOVED it. Thought it was very funny in addition to some awesome special effects.
