So, Joshua's metal band tees, ripped-knee jeans, little combat boots and skater shoes, and miniature military cap has earned me a fucking-up from my five-year-old?

Don't be such a closed-minded dink.

meh...I made a custom T-shirt for my girl that has my brewery logo on the front and "Doesn't play well with others" on the back. She also has several rock band shirts...if you look around a pre-school these days it's not that uncommon.

Furthermore, I see nothing wrong with this:

And I think this is actually awesome

im sorry, but forcing your kid to wear something like that because you think its cute is stupid. its like ICP fans dressing their babies in juggalo apparel, and putting on clown make up and such.. kids should be wearing tigger onesies and such, not leather jackets and bandannas.

Well, then it's a good thing you'll never be around Joshua.

The parenting authority has spoken.

I'm off to buy some tiger onesies for my 4 year old.
Give me a break.

hey, thats my opinion, not a fucking guideline. everyone and their dog knew this thread was headed for trouble the second it was posted, as, im sure many of you know, the way people raise children is a headed conversation.

And on what grounds do you base your parenting opinions?

Hearsay?
Conjecture?
Fantasy?

Until you make a baby, your opinion on parenting is irrelevant, Mike.

Here, Joshua is wearing a t-shirt bearing the logo of the legendary metal band Motorhead and engaging in behavior commonly known as "throwing up the horns".

You telling me that Joshua's dressing and engaging in such behavior is a direct indictment of my ability to raise him? When a five-year-old introduces himself with a handshake, helps set and clear the table without prompting, and folds his laundry with me, you can't possibly tell me that dressing as I dress him is a detriment to his growing-up.

i dont recall telling you anything, at anytime, regarding your child, except my views on a picture posted on this site.

You made a blanket statement condeming any and all parents who dress their children in a way that is not concurrent with your views on parenting.

Given that I have dressed Joshua in a manner similar to the children in that photo, by your logic, you've condemned me as well.

Like I said, make a baby before you start making proclamations.

I thought they looked cute, and having a goth style as a parent or dressing your kids in one does not mean you deserve a beating.

Don't be so sensitive. I took umbrage with your thoughts in this thread.

it's pretty funny how everyone here can make blanket statements for years then get super pissy when someone else makes one.

this isn't directed at anyone in particular, but the general population. i'm guilty too.
