I'm in, hoping for a live draft.

why? you just pick players that haven't been picked yet, depending on if you are there or not.

How do you know? The date isn't even set yet?

Commish of the league, in my experience with fantasy leagues on yahoo, it's best to set up a draft early on, because they will fill up and there isn't an unlimited amount of space. If you wait too long, we'll be stuck doing the draft at some of the worst times, usually like late mornings during the week.....

ive actually never had a problem with them before but i will keep that in mind and set the date as soon as i can.

Can't isn't the right word. Don't wanna is better. If I don't will it just auto pick for me? I dont have time to research with my schedule so I'll pick crap.

you dont need to do any research for the draft. some do, but they are usually obsessive about this.

aaaanyway, you'll have a list of what positions need to be filled on your team as well as a list of players that are still available. if you dont want to do the live draft just set your predraft rankings and the system will draft for you based on that.

Auto draft I had a killer offense, three or four players were PPG players that year, it was a huge reason I ended up 2nd at the end of the season.

And for goalies I had shit, never had a good enough goalie, most of the time they were very very very inconsistent.

I ended up winning the last 9 weeks or so in a row and when the champion game came about my players decided to shit the bed. It was great to have Ovechkin though.

i was the opposite. i had great goalies last year, Kiprusoff, Luongo, Niemi, Nabokov and Hiller, while having par to subpar everywhere else. but it did win me the championship though

I'd like to give it a try if you let noobs participate. I've never played fantasy sports, therefore I've no clue what to do, but it sounds like fun.

I don't like the idea of fantasy playoffs and a championship. I think the best regular season record should win it.

I really tanked last season . . . I think I stopped trying after Christmas, and every so often I'd sign in and just laugh at how terrible it was. But I'll try again!

Name is Sharp Shooters. I can never come up with good names for anything. I have a creativity problem.

Also hooray for not having a No-Cut List! Last year I had Spezza, and I wanted to drop him at the one point because he was doing terrible and I couldn't.

we'll let anyone play.

the general gist of fantasy sports is this. you are the manager (and slightly coach) of your team. when we do a live draft (if you choose to be apart of it) it works just like an actual draft. players get picked one at a time until all positions on your team are filled. anyone that isnt picked becomes a free agent. at points during the season if you dont want a player anymore or if you notice that a player is getting hot (Niemi for me last year) you can drop a player and pick up the desired player. you trade with other teams, put players on a "watch list" etc.

from the coaching side. you can pick what players play on which day. for example, I have Miller at G and the Sabres are off that day. If I have...say, Turco on my bench and the Hawks are playing, i switch them out. this is generally the more important part of doing fantasy because you cant get point if a player is benched.

Yea, Yahoo will pick for you if you cant make it. Just make sure you set your Pre-Draft Rankings (if you dont like the Defaults)

yea, i took out the No-Cut list because, while i see the purpose, its a pain in the ass when like Kane tears his ACL and is out for the season and you cant do shit about it.

Yea, I had Hossa, but didn't want to cut him anyways, just put him in IR and waited.

Spezza wasn't hurt, just awful. At one point he was like -27? It was really bringing down my plus-minus.
