I was raised methodist, as my grandfather was a methodist minister, he even baptised me. I grew atheist with a scientific background, i asked a lot of questions as a kid, still do today. Squanto was spot on. My favorite movie Contact, is all about religion/science/government. Which is why it is the most epically awesome and thought provoking movie. <3 Carl Sagan.

Well, many Christians (mostly Catholics) believe in a god, but not the creation of the universe as told in Genesis. Or the entirety of the Old Testament for that matter (Leviticus, Exodus, etc.). Only psycho religious branches such as Born Again Christians believe the bible literally word-for-word.
