We've hit the wicket with everything that could possibly be offensive. I was offended by Slesh's objectification of women...I didn't voice it because I can see the context it was taken. I feel that because Fly took exception, you deemed it necessary to single him out.

Fuck that. You've said yourself in many threads on this forum that just because one person doesn't agree that it doesn't warrant moderator interaction. Guess that's not so.

While I'm not a woman, and wouldn't share her concerns about rape, I've witnessed the aftermath on multiple occasions from my time in EMS. It's not pretty, physically or emotionally. I agree that it's really not something that really should be the butt of jokes.

If you were offended by the pussy thread, you should have let one of the mods know. When someone complains, the 4 of us discuss it, and decide if something needs to be done. If you were the only person who complained about it, it probably would be let go, and we'd ask you to just avoid the thread.

You know what, fuck this. I've reached my limit of being questioned constantly every time we ask someone to not do something. I'll have XC take me off the mod list since I'm clearly an ineffectual mod being that I don't like jokes about rape.

I think we all are offended by things here and there on this board. As you stated, the context it was taken in caused you to not make it a big deal. This thread was about the GTFO and letting members vote on who should GTFO, not about a yahoo answers question about rape, which was out of context, and in the mods opinions, over the line.

We understand it was meant as a joke, but on the other hand, not all jokes will be ignored by the mods and others, and in this case I think it went overboard.

On this note, I really want to reiterate that the moderators welcome PM's from members with objectionable items. Don't think that if we do nothing, that there isn't discussion going on in the background. Also, we don't know you object to anything unless you tell us, because we can't go and monitor every thread response. This board is truly what the members make of it. All we can do as mods is evaluate and make decisions as a group, and we fully realize that not everyone's going to like our decisions. All PM's to the mods are kept secret, so that way if any finger pointing goes on, it's at the mods, and not the person who may have originally brought something to our attention. Think moderating is all fun and games now?

I'm closing this thread as it's been derailed, and the mods all agree that there's no way we'd allow members to rule a GTFO to anyone. We'd fully expect that this discussion be brought to our attention in PM's in the future.
