I'm open to crossovers and SUVs. I was kind of interested in the Tiguan. The CC was the first car I've ever owned. I've always been an SUV guy, and I kind of missed the space I had in my Jeeps.

The one thing I didn't miss is the poor gas milage.

The Tiguan isn't bad, it has VW's 4Motion AWD, which is closely related to Audi's Quattro. It's powered by the 2.0T as well, and is based on the Golf platform. It doesn't have a ton of space, but would likely have enough to fit a hockey bag. They start at below 30k too if you're looking to save a few bucks.

I need something fuel efficient but fun to drive. All wheel drive. Space for my hockey bag.

Yeah I just bought the CC in February. Shit happens. That's what insurance is for. :D

I'm biased towards a Lancer Evolution IX VIII or even X or 2004-2005 Subaru Impreza WRX. Both AWD, both hella fun to drive, and both turboed, and both four door saloon cars.

Yeah it was black ice. There was a patch of road at the bottom of the hill I was about to drive up where water had collected and frozen over.

I've always liked having SUV's but I hated the fuel economy.

The Tiguan, although admittedly without the right gear it looks like a soccer mom car, has great fuel economy and it'll get even better with the APR tuning... which I LOVED having on my CC.

My CC was a rocket with APR installed. Interestingly enough, the Tiguan is only 150 lbs heavier than the CC.

The other thing I like about the Tiguan is the panoramic sun roof. It's cool as hell.

I'm thinking about avoiding smaller cars because I do a lot of road trips during the summers to shows, and 4 or 5 people in a car isn't nearly as comfortable as 4-5 in an SUV.

I think if I do go with the Tiguan, I'll HAVE to get the 19" rims. They make it look a lot more sporty.

The more I read about the Subaru impreza WRX though, the more I like it...

One word of caution about the WRX...I have a friend who recently sold his WRX STi due to comfort issues.
Itt is a great car and fun to drive, but not set up for commuting or road trips.
Very stiff suspension, hard bucket seats, plastic interior to save weight etc.

Basically, it is what it is.

I love my charger more and more every day. I also loved my ex's S40...the right mix of comfort, luxury, and "fun-to-drive-ness".

I drove the Charger and I wasn't crazy about it.

I think if I were to do a Charger, it'd be Hemi or bust. And right now, I don't want to pay for the fuel consumption of the Hemi. I had one in my Grand Cherokee and I was at the pump once every 2-3 days.

The S40 looks pretty nice, though.

I encountered black ice nearly seven years ago. My then-car rolled over once on a four lane highway and landed several feet away from trees. That was my first brush with death. Fortunately, I survived to continue cheering on the Sabres.

The fit and finish that you were accustomed to in the CC is not going to be as good. The WRX is not a bad car at all, but it will seem like a step down compared to the CC as it doesn't have the luxury features.

Too bad that you couldn't get a CC with 4Motion and the 2.0T, they make you get the VR6.

You might want to look at the Legacy if you want to go the Subaru route. All of my problems with Subaru aside, it's not a terrible car. It's not as good as the previous generation as far as build quality and interior materials in my opinion. But, if you go to test drive one, take out the 2.5T, not the base naturally-aspirated four-cylinder; with the base engine it is underpowered.

Id say check out the Audi Q5 with the 2.0T, but it is just out of your price range surprisingly.

Try looking at a certified pre-owned A4 Avant. Ton's of space, 2.0T that you love, and AWD.

I would probably rather have an Evo then honestly. They just such beautiful cars.

Right? I don't understand why they do that. If you can get 4 motion on the Tiguan with the 2.0T, why can't you get it on the CC?

I'll take a look at the Legacy.

Thats also a STI which is TOTALLY 100% different from a WRX... and if you go with the Legacy GT, Spec B or 3.0 R you get a little bit if a bigger car that is extremely quick and great on longer trips... 3.0 R is a little slower than the 2.5GT but again a stick turbo vs. H6 auto...

lol That works too, nothing like that high-revving 4.2. I just thought the 2.0T for the fuel economy.

Because you want to be able to drive for a tank of gas or two without stopping at the chiropractor... believe me I LOVE the STI! Well not the hatchback, Im not a hatchback fan... but the 4 door.... an amazing car, but not for long trips, lol... to stiff (thats what she said)....

Why I would go after the Legacy Spec B.... a turbo 2.5 with a bit of a refined suspension... a bit of a sleeper not many know about! And would be great on long runs....

You could also take a look at the Honda Crosstour. Some may not like the looks, but it has superb engineering. 271-hp V-6, great AWD, and a TON of storage space. The AWD starts right at 34k.

Too bad this isn't out yet. They just caught Audi testing an A4 Allroad with the 2.0T.
