I'll tell you what. My last two laptops have both been Gateways and I will never buy anything else barring some major catastrophe. The single reason I decided to get another laptop over my first Gateway had only to do with storage and processing speed. Fuck after 5 years any computer will lack in this department. My latest Gateway laptop was purchased at Best Buy 2 years ago this upcoming Match for $500 and has a 500 GB Hard Drive, 2 GHzs processor, 4 GB of memory, 4 USB ports, DVD Burner, an HDMI Out, 17.3 inch HD Screen and I have yet to have a single issue with it

Well last I heard when they got rid of the Tablet was the PC department was staying and the tablet was gone and that was it.

I haven't gone digging for any other info as I don't really care if HP is getting out of the computer scene.

EDIT: If they fully are getting out of the hardware sales, then as I see so far it won't be until the end of next year when HP is out of it.

The fact that they're getting out is what's important. The focus on the hardware division will shift away from making decent product, and move towards making the division attractive for sale. The products themselves will suffer, and support will be poor for a decent period of time.

This is exactly what happened when IBM spun off their PC division into Lenovo. For about 8 months prior, the IBM products, especially the Thinkpad, licked ass. It took a little while for Lenovo to get up to speed as well, even though they were a long established company in that market.

I said they still are in the computer scene, which is the truth. For how long is yet to be determined though.

And I was relaying what I'd heard also, since the last I heard was they were going to shut it down both the tablet and PC part, then I heard the PC part is fine it was just the tablet portion.

Get off my nuts.

applied for a loan through my credit union. i should have the cash next tuesday. i got a little extra cash so i can also buy a new axolotl tank, which i need cause those fuckers grow fast. much faster then i thought. i should be able to pay it off quick.

If you're going to be lugging it around everywhere you go, then make sure it's lightweight. You don't want to go lugging a 6-8LB laptop around very much.

its ok. this is an LEA credit union (lapeer education association)... my dads on the board. its a tiny credit union. i got approved and i have 12 months to pay 700 bucks. itll build my credit, and also keeps everything in my small town.
