I heard that floating around as well.

I think that's nonsense. There can't be a song in existence that carries a $500,000 royalty fee for a single play like that.

Proctor & Gamble paid £100,000 to use "All You Need Is Love" for their Luvs diaper commercial. HBO typically pays licensing fees of $5,000 to $100,000 for songs by prestigious musicians, so half a mill is probably excessive, but there is no doubt that NBC had to pay some coin for that little 15 second snippet.

Well, that's a different situation. Repeated play commercials are one thing, but a one-off in a skit can't be that much.

It might be true, I don't know enough about the inner workings of the royalty system that much. Just doesn't pass my smell test.

Conan's last show was the only one I have ever watched (for Neil Young).

Late night talk shows don't do much for me. If I'm up that late and watching tv I'll watch Jon Stewart.

I enjoyed Steve Correll's cameo appearance. And it's always touching to see Conan get choked up. The guy's a real class act.

I don't know if that link is going to work, but the title is, Conan helps Jordan find a home pt.2 from the July 29th.

Class act. Thanks for posting that, CV. I work til after the show is over, and no DVR to catch it later.
